London Olympics Water Treatment

Advetec Limited (UK) has now commissioned its 750 cubic meter per day waste water treatment plant on the London Olympics site. Advetec has worked in conjunction with RWR London and completed a uniquely designed unit.

The system went live and is dealing with black and grey water from the Olympic site along with dirty water tankered in from several of the surrounding sites.

The average COD of the water being delivered to the system is in excess of 40,000 COD, with high levels of solids and organic material. The system is digesting and breaking down these organics in less than 24 hours and the average discharge to mains sewer is less than 1,000 COD.Advetec and RWR are currently commissioning the new Bio Theermic Digester to deal with the solids from the Olympic area along with an existing 150 tonnes per day of organic waste from Stratford Borough Council. This installation which is due for completion by the end of 2011 will be Advetec’s largest organic solids site at present.

BioThermic Digester demonstration units

Advetec USA have now received their BioThermic Digester demonstration units and they will be undertaking trials in a Miami Medical facility regarding treatment of their medical waste besides a large sludge handling plant in Orlando and food waste disposal on cruise ships. The Advetec BTD has been granted approval for trial at the municipal waste handling station by the US Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

Advetec has just secured a new distributor for New Zealand, Advetec’s distributor is currently working with Christchurch Council in establishing first response control measures using Advetec products to reduce the contamination of the land and water course and to reduce possible out breaks of E coli, Salmonella and Listeria cases resulting from the earthquake damage to the sewage collection systems infrastructure. Many people in Christchurch presently have to use portable toilets due to this extensive damage.

In an effort to support the New Zealand Government and help the population in these difficult times, the Advetec Group have donated 20,000 litres of bio-stimulants to assist in the digestion of organic sewage and 20,000 litres of Prevent Probiotic Cleaning products to help reduce pathogenic bacteria.

Advetec Cyprus

Advetec Cyprus which also covers Greece, are now conducting trials with the Sewage Board, Limassol, to reduce operating costs and odour issues within the collection systems. Advetec Cyprus staff will be installing bio-tech solutions into restaurants and large pumping stations to breakdown FOG, reduce odours and decrease energy costs.

The Sewage Board, Limassol are currently involved in a multi-million euro project bringing mains drainage system to the outer areas of the city and the introduction of Advetec Products will assist in ensuring a free flowing, more manageable and environmentally friendly solution instead of using chemicals.

Advetec Limited UK, Complete BTD (Bio Thermic Digestion) installation to deal with DAF unit flocculants. Diffused area flocculation is a well established treatment for the removal of solids at the end of a treatment system.

By adding polymers the solids are collected in a scum like substance and scrapped from the liquids surface.

This type of waste is very costly to dispose of. Advetec in conjunction with RWR installed a BTD unit and fed only the DAF waste into the unit, after 14 days of operation the BTD consumed everything. To date we have had no organic discharge that is typically expected from this type of waste.

As haulage prices continue to rise, the installation of a small BTD along side an existing DAF unit could provide customers with an extremely cost effective solution to ever increasing flocculant disposal costs.

John Dudley and Yanni Rizopoulou of Advetec Cyprus seen here outside Creta Foods. John, Yanni and Craig visited the Crete site to advise on addition treatments with Greece’s largest meat processor, Advetec are now undertaking trails and studies with Creta Farms to reduce airborne ammonia and reduce the turbidity with the effluent from the Pig Housing units.

Creta Foods already has a significant capital investment in there waste water treatment system supported by an EU grant for 6.5million Euro.

The production facility already discharges water that is cleaner than domestic tap water, it is hoped that with the help of Advetec’s technology the Pig Housing units effluent can meet the same exacting standards as their production facility

What a fun day they had.

Advetec Staff attend Certification Course.

Advetec Managers and Service Technicians attended there confined space certification course. In July they braved the heat wave to re certify in confined space breathing apparatus and safe escape. Sitting in the class (glass) room, was probably the hardest part of the course with the heat rising to 30 Degrees. no air con just and open window and an open door. This is what you call confined. When it came to wearing the equipment and climbing ladders down into the bowls of the earth, you would have though it could not get any hotter, you would be wrong !! Thanks to perseverance everyone came through with flying colours, Advetec staff are now competent to enter and undertake work in confined spaces for another three years, lets hope in 2012 the management books the course in February!

Advetec provides turnkey solution for Cadbury Schweppes

Advetec have been providing an environmentally friendly solution to several Cadbury sites or the last 5 years.. The ongoing success with the dispensing of Advetec 460 has assisted in reducing Cadbury's ongoing effluent bill. In line with the company's compliance with IPPC and its positive approach to new technologies that benefit the environment, Cadburys commissioned Advetec to install a 120 cubic meter bio reactor system on one of Cadburys sites which has resulted in a 72% drop in the existing discharge levels.

Trebor Bassets commissions Bio-Reactor to degrade waste from Licorice line.

Over the next few months Trebor Bassets will be having a 12 cubic meter Bio-reactor installed to deal with the wash down water from the Licorice all sorts production line. As Liquorices is a natural biocide Advetec has been able to establish a unique blend of bio-stimulants and provide a bespoke bio-reactor that will give indigenous bacteria the time and environment required to degrade the liquorice waste.
